Postdoctoral
positions are available to study the mechanisms of pre-mRNA splicing and the
molecular causes of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the leading cause of hereditary
infant death. Specific projects
include:
* The function of
exonic splicing enhancers in exon definition
* Mechanisms of
splice site pairing
* Molecular
causes of Spinal Muscular Atrophy
* Development of
RNA-based strategies to correct mis-splicing
Interested,
motivated individuals with experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and
tissue culture, should send a CV, a description of research experience and
interests, and names and contact information of three references to: Dr.
Klemens J. Hertel at khertel@uci.edu.
Alternatively, materials can be sent to the postal address listed on the Hertel Home-Page.
