Schematic Diagram of Mouse Lymph Node

Diagram of a typical peripheral mouse lymph node, showing the basic separation between the lymphocyte-rich cortex (which includes primary and secondary follicles and diffuse cortex), and the medulla which contains a mixture of lymphocytes, plasma cells and macrophages.  Lymphocytes may enter the node through the afferent lymphatics, and via the specialized high endothelial venules (HEV).
