Equivalence: Efficient Precipitation

If antigen and antibody are mixed are roughly equal molar concentrations (a condition referred to as "equivalence"),  extensive cross-linking can form large, insoluble complexes.  These precipitates can be rendered visible in a variety of ways, and can also be isolated and analyzed chemically.   (While only two-dimensional complexes are illustrated here, they will form in three dimensions in the real world.)
